‎In a bid to improve road accessibility and enhance vehicular movement, the Mayor of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Hon. Kenneth Akwuobi, has commenced the rehabilitation of potholes and severely damaged sections of roads across the council area.
‎
‎The intervention, which commenced on June 14, has brought relief to motorists and residents by improving traffic flow and addressing road defects that could have led to further deterioration.
‎
‎Priority attention has been given to the badly affected portions of Obodoukwu Road, particularly around the Coca-Cola Market and Ogbo-Efele axis, where persistent overflow from the Sakamori drainage channel has contributed to erosion and extensive damage to the roadway. Similar rehabilitation efforts have also been carried out around the Atani Road junction and adjoining areas.
‎
‎The exercise has also covered communities including Okoti, Naval Outpost, Okpotuno, and Odoroba, where numerous potholes and damaged sections that previously affected transportation and posed safety concerns to road users are being repaired.
‎
‎The local government administration stated that the rehabilitation work is still ongoing, assuring residents that it remains committed to addressing other identified road challenges as reports are received. The council reaffirmed its determination to provide safer, accessible, and more motorable roads across Ogbaru.
‎
‎Residents and other beneficiaries of the project have commended the Council Chairman for the timely intervention, describing the initiative as a welcome development that will enhance transportation, ease movement of goods and services, and support economic activities within the affected communities.
