In a strategic move to foster unity and strengthen the party ahead of forthcoming elections, the leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra West Local Government Area on June 13 convened a stakeholders’ meeting with former aspirants who participated in the recently concluded party primaries.
The meeting, held at Umueze Anam brought together party leaders, stakeholders, and former aspirants from across the local government area to deliberate on the way forward following the successful completion of the party’s primary elections.
In her Address, the Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Edith Nkeiru Ndive, emphasized the need for reconciliation, cohesion, and collective commitment to the ideals of APGA. She noted that while the primaries provided a democratic platform for aspirants to test their popularity and leadership credentials, the time had come for all members to unite behind the party’s candidates and work towards a common goal.

In his remarks, former Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra West, Hon. Sylvester Oji Okafor, commended the party leadership for initiating the stakeholders’ engagement. He described unity as the bedrock of every successful political organization and encouraged former aspirants and their supporters to embrace reconciliation and rally behind the party’s candidates.
Hon. Okafor further stressed that APGA’s achievements in Anambra State provide a solid foundation upon which the party can continue to build, urging members to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s ideals.

Also speaking, the APGA House of Assembly flagbearer for Anambra West Constituency, Hon. Dr. Felix Ikechi, expressed gratitude to the party for entrusting him with its ticket for the forthcoming election. He described the meeting as timely and necessary, noting that the conclusion of the primaries should mark the beginning of a stronger and more united APGA family.
Hon. Ikechi urged party members to set aside differences arising from the primaries and channel their energies toward grassroots mobilization and voter engagement. He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the party’s success in the forthcoming elections.
Former aspirants who attended the meeting expressed appreciation to the party leadership for creating a platform for dialogue and consultation. They reaffirmed their loyalty to APGA and pledged to support the party’s candidates in the collective interest of Anambra West.
The meeting concluded with a renewed resolve among party faithful to close ranks, strengthen existing structures, and work collectively toward achieving electoral success for APGA in the upcoming polls.
Political observers have described the meeting as a significant step toward consolidating party unity and ensuring that APGA remains a formidable political force in Anambra West and beyond.
