A delegation of Nze na Ozo Enugwu-Agidi, led by Ozo Ichie Raymond Uchebo, has paid a courtesy and congratulatory visit to the Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, reaffirming its confidence in his leadership and support for the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
During the visit to the commissioner’s office on June 22, the delegation commended Governor Soludo for appointing Dr. Aguiyi, describing him as a seasoned administrator and community leader whose wealth of experience makes him well-suited for the task of driving the state’s environmental agenda.
The group noted that Dr. Aguiyi earned widespread respect through his service as Transition Committee Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area(LGA) and through various leadership roles in Enugwu-Agidi, where he demonstrated commitment, integrity and effective governance.
Members of the delegation pledged their continued support for Governor Soludo’s administration, assuring the commissioner of their cooperation in advancing environmental initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life across the state.
Responding, Dr. Aguiyi expressed appreciation for the visit and the goodwill extended to him, describing the gesture as a reflection of the strong bond between government and the people.
He reiterated that the Soludo’s administration remains committed to building a clean, green, livable and sustainable homeland, stressing that achieving this vision requires the collective efforts of communities, traditional institutions and other critical stakeholders.
According to the commissioner, environmental sustainability cannot be achieved by government alone, urging communities across Anambra to take greater responsibility for protecting their surroundings through environmental awareness, adherence to regulations and the adoption of responsible waste management practices.
Dr. Aguiyi observed that many of the environmental challenges facing the state including erosion, flooding and indiscriminate waste disposal can be significantly mitigated when citizens actively participate in safeguarding their environment.
He reaffirmed the Ministry of Environment’s commitment to working closely with communities, development groups and other stakeholders to promote environmental consciousness, ensuring a cleaner, safer and healthier Anambra for both present and future generations.
The visit highlighted the growing support for the commissioner and underscored the vital role of community participation in achieving the state’s environmental sustainability goals.
