The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), aspirant for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Dr. Chris Onyekachukwu Obiajulu Nwokedi (JP), Akaekpuchionwa, has appealed to parishioners of St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish, Okpoko, to support his political journey with prayers.
Dr. Nwokedi made the plea on May 3, during the parish 1st Sunday Night Vigil held at the parish field in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State.
“My only plea is your prayers, because he who holds prayers has everything. That is the support I am asking from all of you here,” Nwokedi told the congregation.
The APGA hopeful pledged that if elected to the House of Representatives in 2026, he would return to the parish to give thanks to God. “By the special grace of God, if I’m elected into office, I will come and thank God here. And I will make sure that in my first one year in office, unless I’m sick, I must come here and dance with you and thank God,” he said.
Dr. Nwokedi, who is one of the Patrons of St. Charles Lwanga Parish, also promised to empower members of the church. “I will inform our clergy to select about 10 or 20 persons who will be put into offices. This is what I have for you, and sincerely speaking, I love all of you from the deepest of my heart,” he added.
Earlier during the Father’s Day Mass celebration, Akaekpuchionwa, as he is fondly called, gifted N1.3 million to fathers at St. Charles Lwanga Parish, Okpoko, and N500,000 to fathers at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Atani. He described fathers as the pillars, foundations, and breadwinners of homes, noting their major role as heads of families.
Dr. Nwokedi further pledged to support the ongoing reconstruction of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Atani, which is in his community.
Beneficiaries and parishioners commended his gesture, describing him as a consistent supporter of families and the Church.
