The atmosphere at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN), was filled with joy, laughter and heartfelt emotions on October 27, as the Provost, Prof. Victor I. O. Ndirika, celebrated his birthday in a memorable gathering organised in his honour.
The celebration was made particularly special by his wife, Prof. Maryann Chinwe Ndirika, who organised a surprise birthday party to celebrate her husband, bringing together members of the College Management and staff in an atmosphere of love, appreciation and goodwill.
In her heartfelt birthday message, Prof. Maryann Chinwe Ndirika expressed her deep love and admiration for her husband, describing him as a wonderful man who brings happiness and fulfilment into her life.
“On your birthday, I celebrate the man who makes every day special. To the most wonderful man, you fill my heart with love and my life with joy. Happy birthday, love,” she said.
The Acting College Bursar, Dr. Gerald Anigbogu, proposed a toast in honour of the Provost, wishing him long life, sound health, greater wisdom, renewed strength, peace of mind and more remarkable accomplishments.
Dr. Anigbogu also commended Prof. Ndirika for his purposeful leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of the college, noting his contributions to its growth and progress.
In his vote of thanks, the college Internal Auditor, Mr. Linus Mezue, appreciated Prof. Maryann C. Ndirika for organising the celebration, describing her gesture as commendable and worthy of emulation.
Mr. Mezue also praised the provost for his guidance, patience and fairness, noting that these qualities had contributed to fostering peace, harmony and a culture of excellence within the College community.
In his response, Prof. Victor I. O. Ndirika expressed profound gratitude to his wife for the thoughtful gesture, describing the celebration as a special surprise package that made his birthday memorable.
He also appreciated members of the College Management and staff for taking time out of their busy schedules to celebrate with him, noting that their presence, love and goodwill made the occasion truly special.
