The Mayor of Nnewi North, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, on March 16, officially launched “Operation Keep Nnewi North Clean”, a drive aimed at enhancing sanitation in the metropolis. Over 100 workers have been recruited to sweep roads across Nnewi as part of the initiative.
Addressing the workers at the council chambers, Hon. Anazodo emphasised the importance of their role in maintaining a clean environment and assured them that his administration would prioritise their welfare.
“We have invested heavily in constructing these roads, and we cannot afford to see them deteriorate,” he said.
The cleaners will be deployed across all roads in Nnewi to ensure a clean environment. Notable personalities, including Hon. Ijeoma Okoli, Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Emeka Okafor, Secretary Nnewi North, and Hon. Emeka Akpuka, attended the flag-off ceremony.
