Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Secretary to the Anambra State Government, has clarified her role as the state’s focal person for the Made in Nigeria Office, saying her involvement is limited to official engagements with the office.
Nnake made the clarification on Aug. 22 in a statement following reports circulating on social media in which her photograph was displayed and she was identified as one of the state coordinators of the purported “Made in Nigeria Agency.”
She explained that in January 2026, Governor Chukwuma Soludo received a letter from the Made in Nigeria Office, said to be under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), requesting the nomination of a state focal person.
According to her, the Governor subsequently nominated her in February 2026 as the State Focal Person for Anambra.
“Following the nominations, focal persons from the 36 states have been in a WhatsApp group engaging on issues relating to the activities of the office,” she said.
Nnake said the office recently requested that Anambra host the South-East Made in Nigeria Fair, a request which was approved by the state government.
She said an inaugural meeting was held about two weeks ago, with the National Coordinator in attendance, adding that the state committee had since commenced preparations for the fair.
According to her, the fair is scheduled to hold from Dec. 2 to Dec. 5, 2026.
Nnake, however, stressed that she had no knowledge of, involvement in or connection with any other activities, claims or developments attributed to the office beyond the official interactions and engagements outlined.
“I therefore wish to make it clear that anything beyond the above mentioned official interactions is entirely outside my knowledge and involvement,” she said.
