The Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Ikechukwu Okakpu, has introduced information and communication technology (ICT) tools to strengthen security, improve internal communication and enhance administrative efficiency at the council.
The initiative involves the installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the council secretariat in Abagana and the provision of intercom systems for members of the executive council and the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA).
The CCTV cameras are intended to improve surveillance and security within the council premises, while the intercom systems will facilitate communication and coordination among officials.
The initiative aligns with the Anambra State Government’s e-governance drive under Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the council’s efforts to integrate technology into its administrative operations.
The measures are expected to support accountability, streamline administrative processes and improve service delivery to residents of the local government area.
