The newly appointed Anambra Head of Service, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, Esq., mni, has reaffirmed that quality service delivery is a prerequisite for demanding better welfare. Meeting with civil servants, labour leaders, and stakeholders at the Chief Jerome Udorji Secretariat complex, Awka, she referenced a blueprint for gradual transformation into a civil service that works for Ndi Anambra.

Ngozi Anuli Iwouno Esq. mni emphasized that there will be checks and balances to ensure discipline, diligence, and accountability, stating that the administration believes in efficient service delivery, rewarding diligence, and reprimanding laxity. She decried absenteeism and lateness, calling it an abomination, and stressing that there must be positive change in attitude to work to give us the moral capacity to request for improved workers welfare.

The Head of Service noted that citizens are entitled to excellent service, saying, “Civil servants transform government policies into actionable reforms; therefore, civil servants must wake up to their duties.”

Labour leaders appreciated Ngozi Anuli Iwouno Esq mni forthrightness and resolved. They pleaded with the Governor to address workers transportation service by repairing the broken down civil buses and solving the housing challenges faced by workers. They also called for a refund of the contributory pension deduction from workers salaries.

The event featured a praise and worship with the new Head of Service.
