Rev. Fr. Cyriacus Ubah, Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Akpo, has emphasized the need for collective responsiveness to create a better society.
Speaking on Palm Sunday, Fr. Ubah urged faithfuls to contribute to societal betterment, saying “if the society is good, devoid of burglary, kidnapping, assassination… it will be enjoyable to all.”
He noted that everyone has something to offer: “It is not just about money… One doesn’t need money to obey rules and regulations.”
Fr. Ubah cited Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where people contributed in various ways, as an example of collective effort.
He advised: “Do the right thing because it’s good, not because you’ll get caught. Endeavour to give what you have for the betterment of our society.”
