A delegation of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has paid a courtesy visit to the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Anambra State, Mr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, ahead of the Association’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for May 7, 2026, in Awka.

The delegation, led by the NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, engaged the Attorney-General in discussions centred on strengthening institutional collaboration between the Bar and the Ministry of Justice. Key issues deliberated upon included advancing justice sector reforms, upholding the rule of law, and enhancing efficient justice delivery in Anambra State and across the country.

Speaking during the visit, Osigwe underscored the importance of synergy between legal practitioners and government institutions in fostering a more responsive and effective justice system. He noted that sustained collaboration remains critical to achieving meaningful reforms within Nigeria’s legal framework.

In his remarks, Nweke welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to legal excellence and progressive justice administration. He emphasized the readiness of his office to work closely with the NBA in driving reforms that would strengthen the justice system.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the engagement, describing it as productive and forward-looking. Osigwe also commended the hospitality extended to the NBA delegation, noting that the visit provided an opportunity for a robust exchange of ideas aimed at improving justice delivery.
