‎The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has commenced the sale of nomination forms for elective positions ahead of its 12th Triennial Delegates Conference scheduled to hold in November 2026 in Kano State.
‎
‎The NAWOJ National Credentials Committee announced the commencement of the electoral process in a notification issued to Nawojians on October 5, urging interested candidates to carefully study and comply with the provisions of the NUJ Constitution and the election timetable released by the committee.
‎
‎According to the electoral guidelines, positions to be contested include National President, Deputy National President, Vice Presidents for the six zones, National Secretary, Assistant National Secretary, National Treasurer, National Financial Secretary, National Internal Auditor and Zonal Secretaries for the six zones.
‎
‎The committee stated that nomination forms are available at designated venues, including the NUJ National Secretariat and through the Credentials Committee or zonal representatives.
‎
‎The non-refundable nomination fees are N300,000 for National President, N270,000 for Deputy National President, N200,000 for Vice Presidents, N250,000 for National Secretary, N200,000 for Assistant National Secretary and National Treasurer, while National Financial Secretary, National Internal Auditor and Zonal Secretaries will pay N150,000 each.
‎
‎The guidelines further require aspirants to return completed forms with evidence of payment, two recent passport photographs, a photocopy of their curriculum vitae and other relevant credentials and documents.
‎
‎Candidates are also required to provide evidence of payment of their check-off dues and practising fees, while their nominators must be financially up-to-date with both the NUJ and NAWOJ. A nominator is also prohibited from sponsoring or nominating more than one aspirant.
‎
‎The committee warned that all claims and objections during the electoral process must be supported by valid evidence or documents, either in soft or hard copies.
‎
‎The sale of nomination forms, according to the notification, will remain open for ten days as NAWOJ members interested in contesting the various positions prepare for the November delegates conference in Kano.
