The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra State Chapter, has presented the “Distinguished Charismatic Cleric” award to the Parish Priest of Blessed Iwene Tansi Parish, Umudioka-Dunukofia, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube Muonso), during a courtesy visit to the parish. The event coincided with the global celebration of Catholic Fathers Sunday.

Delivering a sermon at the occasion, Fr. Obimma described the family as the backbone of society, emphasizing that men are positioned as leaders within the home. Speaking on the theme, “Rejected for Promotion,” he outlined three core pillars of fatherhood: wisdom, provision, and compassion.
‎
He explained that wisdom sets a man apart and enables sound judgment, warning that a lack of it often leads to unnecessary troubles. According to him, in all you do, let the fear of God guide you, for that is the mark of true wisdom.

On the responsibility of fathers, he stressed the importance of provision and protection, describing them as fundamental duties. He criticized the attitude of men who show indifference to their family responsibilities, particularly regarding the source of their wives’ income. “A father must protect and provide for his family. Failure in this duty is a total failure,” he said, adding that laziness inevitably leads to poverty.
‎
Addressing women, the cleric encouraged the cultivation of inner beauty, noting that character plays a more significant role than physical appearance in marital choices. He also cautioned against exposing private marital issues, stressing that such actions can undermine the stability of the home. “Marriage is sacred and lifelong. Building it requires time and a solid foundation,” he said.

He further warned women against teaching children dishonest behavior, highlighting its long-term negative effects. He also urged men to support their wives in order to foster unity and peace within the home.
‎
Fr. Obimma attributed many failed marriages to a disregard for proper processes and advised couples to embrace patience and perseverance as essential virtues for success. He added that steadfastness and focus is key to overcoming life’s challenges, noting that wise individuals avoid actions that could bring disgrace.
‎
The cleric concluded by thanking God for His blessings upon the parish and encouraged members to remain steadfast in faith. He called on men to lead with compassion, avoid harboring grudges, and fulfill their responsibilities diligently.
‎
Presenting the award, the Chairperson of NAWOJ in Anambra State, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika, described Fr. Obimma as a devoted servant of God whose impact extends beyond the pulpit. She noted that the recognition was in appreciation of his charisma, philanthropic efforts, and unwavering commitment to both humanity and divine service, adding that his life is worthy of emulation.
