The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, has commended the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for empowering telecom consumers in the state with the knowledge to make informed choices and effectively exercise their rights.
Dr. Mefor gave the commendation on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Sensitisation Forum on Data Management, Consumer Awareness and Regulatory Compliance organised by the NCC in Awka.
According to him, “the commission has remained consistent in protecting the rights and interests of telecom consumers”, noting that a similar sensitisation was held in the state less than a month ago.

Mefor said the Soludo administration is building on such efforts by repurposing the old Government House into the Solution Innovation District (SID)- a tech hub where 2,600 youths have already been trained in technology and innovation. He added that the facility is over 90 percent completed and will be commissioned on March 17, 2027, with global partners such as Oracle, Microsoft and Google expected on board.

He stressed that the government is working to connect the last mile to transform Anambra into a smart megacity driven by internet connectivity and called for stronger partnership between the state and communications stakeholders.

The commissioner also disclosed that his ministry, now refocused as Ministry of Information and Value Reformation, flagged off its radio campaign for value reorientation earlier that day at the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) in collaboration with a network of radio stations.
