The Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area, Hon. Edith Nkeiru Ndive, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to expanding access to potable water through sustainable infrastructure projects aimed at improving the well being of residents.
Ndive made the pledge on July 27, during an inspection of the ongoing borehole project at Central Primary School, Umueze Anam, where she assessed the quality and pace of work.
She described access to clean and safe drinking water as critical to public health and community development, adding that her administration would continue to invest in projects that enhance education, healthcare and living conditions.
The mayor assured pupils, teachers and residents that the project would be completed in line with approved standards, stressing that quality, durability and long term functionality remained top priorities.
The Headmistress of Central Primary School, Mrs. Theresa Agbata, conducted the mayor round the project site and briefed her on the progress recorded since construction began.
Agbata thanked the mayor for approving the project, describing it as a timely intervention that would address the school’s longstanding water supply challenges and also serve surrounding residents.
She said the completed borehole would improve sanitation, promote a healthier learning environment and provide a reliable source of potable water for the school and the host community.
The inspection underscores the Anambra West Local Government administration’s emphasis on monitoring ongoing projects to ensure they meet approved standards and respond to the needs of the people.
