In a powerful sermon on Palm Sunday, Rev. Canon Gabriel I. Ogala of Church of Ascension Anglican Church G.R.A, Awka, urged Christians to emulate Christ’s example and triumph over life’s challenges. The parish priest emphasized the symbolism of Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where palm branches represented victory over death.

“Live like Christ and be victorious,” Ogala charged, encouraging believers to reflect on the core meanings of Palm Sunday. As Christians celebrate Jesus’ kingship, they’re reminded of his sacrifice, passion, and resurrection.

Ogala’s message comes as Christians worldwide mark the beginning of Holy Week, a sacred season of spiritual renewal. He advised believers to overcome unforeseen circumstances by living a Christ-like life, embracing the triumph and victory symbolized by the palm branch.

As the faithful celebrate Palm Sunday, Ogala’s words resonate: “Celebrate Jesus Christ as King, and witness his sacrifice, passion, and resurrection.” May this Holy Week be a time of spiritual growth and victory for all Christians.
