As the world marks the International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations, attention is focused on the values of peace, cultural diversity, inclusive governance and sustainable development.
In Anambra State, these ideals are reflected in key policies and programmes of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, particularly in security, education, community development and cultural preservation.
Since assuming office, Governor Soludo has prioritized security through collaboration with traditional rulers, town unions, religious leaders, community stakeholders and security agencies. Initiatives such as Operation Udo Ga-Achi and local security structures have helped improve safety, restore social and economic activities across many communities.
The administration has also strengthened grassroots governance by promoting peaceful community leadership processes, encouraging greater participation by traditional rulers, Presidents-General, youth and women groups in local affairs.
Improved security has equally boosted participation in cultural festivals and traditional celebrations, while efforts to strengthen traditional institutions have helped preserve Anambra’s rich cultural heritage.
In education, the introduction of free education, recruitment of teachers, school infrastructure improvements and smart-school initiatives have expanded learning opportunities and enhanced digital literacy among students.
The administration’s focus on transparency, citizen engagement, digital transformation and grassroots development further reflects its commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable growth.
As the world celebrates dialogue as a tool for peace and progress, Anambra’s efforts in security, education, culture and community engagement demonstrate the practical application of these values.
