The Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Ofobuike has restated the council’s commitment to education as plans, progress for the establishment of a community library in Igboukwu
Speaking during site visit , the Mayor noted that giving children access to education is one of the greatest investments government can make.
He explained that the public library which will be a hybrid library with both physical books and e-library facilities will help students, especially during long holidays, by giving them access to books and study materials.
Dr Ofobuike added that although the council is working in other areas like healthcare , security and infrastructure, education remains their main focus. He explained that the council has renovated the Nkpologwu branch library.
Also speaking, the Director Anambra State Library Services, Mrs Obioma Obalum noted that the public library in the community is a positive step toward development and of great benefit to scholars.
She urged students and residents to make use of the opportunity given to them.
