Following the official flag-off of the Ogbaru Healthy Environment initiative, the administration of Mayor, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Hon. Nnamdi Ifejika, popularly known as SINGA, has intensified efforts to improve environmental sanitation across the area.
On October 3, the council commenced the evacuation of refuse from dustbins and designated waste collection points, translating its environmental campaign into practical action across communities.
The exercise is part of Operation Ogbaru Healthy Environment, an initiative aimed at promoting cleaner surroundings, healthier communities and improved public spaces while encouraging residents to adopt responsible waste management practices.

The administration described environmental cleanliness as a continuous responsibility requiring discipline, consistency and the active participation of residents across the local government area.
It said the ongoing evacuation would help restore environmental sanity in streets, markets, communities and other public spaces where accumulated refuse could pose risks to public health and affect the wellbeing of residents.
The evacuation exercise at Ogbaru Junction, further demonstrated the council’s determination to move from policy pronouncements to practical implementation, with sanitation workers actively engaged in the operation.
The administration urged residents to support the initiative by properly disposing of waste, keeping their surroundings clean and making environmental protection a daily responsibility.
The ongoing “Ogbaru Must Be Clean” exercise, it said, reinforces the administration’s commitment to sustained environmental action and demonstrates its resolve to move from swearing-in to service, flag-off to implementation, and promises to visible results.
