‎The Idemili South Local Government Area has launched a comprehensive documentation and verification exercise for all streets, roads, lanes, avenues, and closes across seven communities within the council area as part of efforts to improve administrative efficiency and maintain accurate records.
‎
‎In a special public notice issued on June 16, the Local Government Authority directed property owners and other stakeholders on the affected roads and streets to present the required documents for verification and registration within the stipulated period.
‎
‎The exercise covers the communities of Akwu-Ukwu, Awka-Etiti, Alor, Nnokwa, Nnobi, Oba, and Ojoto. According to the council, the initiative is designed to establish a reliable and up-to-date database of roads within the area while ensuring that all allocations and registrations comply with existing regulations.
‎
‎Property owners are required to submit allocation or registration documents, evidence of renewal payments from 2023 to date or from the date of the original allocation where applicable as well as valid means of identification. Both original documents and photocopies must be presented for verification.
‎
‎The exercise will take place from June 16 to July 3, 2026, on weekdays only, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Administrative Block of the Idemili South Local Government Headquarters.
‎
‎The council emphasized that participation is mandatory and warned that any road, street, lane, avenue, or close that is not properly documented during the exercise could be subject to revocation by the Local Government Authority.
‎
‎Residents and stakeholders were urged to take advantage of the registration period to safeguard their rights and maintain their privileges.
