Hon. Chike Ibegbu has continued to make remarkable strides in advancing education in Onitsha North, with a particular emphasis on empowering the girl child.
Through the Chike Ibegbu Foundation, he has implemented initiatives designed to give young girls equal access to quality education and the resources necessary to excel academically.
In 2025, he launched an annual Free Holiday Lesson Programme across Onitsha North II Constituency, providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for over 1,600 pupils from Nursery 1 to SS3, with a strong focus on encouraging female participation.
Recognizing the specific challenges faced by girls, Hon. Ibegbu has extended his support beyond the classroom. He awarded scholarships to all Primary 6 pupils transitioning into secondary school, ensuring no girl is left behind at this pivotal stage of her education.
Furthermore, SS3 students who participated in the holiday programme received full JAMB and WAEC scholarships, opening doors to higher education and opportunities that might otherwise have been financially out of reach.
Hon. Ibegbu’s commitment underscores a clear vision: to cultivate a generation of educated, confident, and empowered young women who will contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Onitsha North II and the wider community.
