The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, officially opened Pattonik Villa Hotel and Suites in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, on August 21.

During the event, he stated that the hotel will serve as a hub for job creation for the youths, a venue for relaxation and enjoyment, and a safe space for both guests and investors. “Those who will use this facility will have maximum comfort and security.”

The governor commended Sir Anthony Anekwe, the hotel owner, for his commitment to investing in his hometown, which aligned with the state’s development goals. “I am here today to officially commission this hotel, which reflects your belief in homeland consciousness, that everything begins at home. No matter where we travel; North, South, or West, we should bring our investments back home.”

He added, “Build whatever you want, but I urge our people to allocate at least 40 per cent of their investments to their homeland because God made us ‘Onye Anambra’ for a purpose—to leave our environment better than we found it.”

Governor Soludo highlighted that Anambra is progressing rapidly, with significant infrastructure development across the state. He mentioned numerous projects including roads, factories, and hotels scheduled for commissioning.

He assured that Anambra remains a safe place for investment. “When I took office in my first term, eight LGAs were under siege by hoodlums, but today, 62 criminal hideouts have been dismantled. While no society is entirely crime-free, Anambra will no longer be a haven for criminals,” he stated.

In his remarks, Sir Anekwe expressed gratitude for favourable weather and thanked Governor Soludo for attending the hotel’s commissioning. He described the project as a symbol of peace, unity, progress, hospitality, and job creation for youths to reduce crime in their community.

“Employing youth reduces crime because idle minds are the devil’s workshop. It is not as if we do not have an alternative location to build this facility, but we aimed to align with the governor’s vision of homegrown development. Our commitment is to develop our state by working together.”

He encouraged fellow Ndi Anambra to invest in the state, emphasising that Anambra have many capable individuals who can contribute to its growth. “I urge my children to come back and invest here.”

Sir Anekwe also prayed for enhanced wisdom for the governor and called on him and other officials to patronise their hotel, praising their customer service and dedication.
