The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has announced the development of a new industrial city accompanied by an aerotropolis—a city designed for concentrated industrial activity, which will contrast with the haphazard layout where factories, residences, churches, fuel stations, and markets are randomly placed side by side.
He announced this during the inauguration of the Pattonik Villa Hotel and Suites in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, on August 21.
The governor said that many people are visiting the Anambra Mixed Industrial City (AMIC), which spans about five to six thousand hectares. Starting next month, significant development of the airport and runway is underway, with efforts to clear land and build roads already in progress. A direct power substation has also been established at the site.
He urged Ndi Anambra to return home and invest, emphasising that ample opportunities are available. “It is time to make Anambra greater.”
