Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the newly established Ministry of Commerce in Anambra State will focus strategically on the state’s commercial center as part of efforts to reposition the state for rapid economic growth and business expansion.

The governor made the declaration during a meeting with the leaders of 41 major markets in Anambra State today, May 20 at Amphitheater, Light House Awka.
Soludo said that the ministry was created to strengthen trade, improve the ease of doing business, and unlock the enormous economic potential of the state’s thriving commercial communities.
According to him, the initiative is designed to “leapfrog commerce” and transform Anambra into a more competitive economic hub in Nigeria.

The governor explained that the ministry would work closely with traders, investors, manufacturers, and market leaders to develop policies capable of driving industrialization, boosting internally generated revenue, and attracting both local and foreign investments.
He noted that Anambra’s reputation as one of the country’s leading trading destinations makes it necessary for government to establish a dedicated institution focused solely on commerce and enterprise development.

Soludo further assured residents that his administration remains committed to building a modern economy driven by innovation, technology, infrastructure, and private sector partnerships.
