Following the recent appointments of some women technocrats into Solution cabinet for second term administration by the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the Chairperson of the Anambra State Chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika praises the governor for being gender balance conscious.
She said that the governor’s intentionality for gender balance as reflected in the recent appointments he made for his second tenure marks him as an outstanding female friendly governor.
Comrade Ifejika who said this in an interaction with Information Officer commended the Anambra State Governor for his commitment to gender balance and recognition of competence among women in governance.
She said that his pursue for merit over mediocrity spells good for the state.
Comrade Ifejika described the appointments as milestone, adding that they have strengthened the confidence and trust reposed in Governor Soludo’s leadership by Ndi Anambra.
She equally commended the wife of Anambra State Governor and NAWOJ Grand Patron, Dr Nonye Soludo, for her profound support for NAWOJ and her contributions towards growth of the media profession.
The NAWOJ Chairperson however, called for the inclusion of more women in decision making organs of government at all levels.#
