TheAnambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, celebrated Hon Justice Paul A. C. Obidigwe on his 80th birthday, praising him as a man who has diligently contributed to the society, church, and his profession.
He noted that Justice Obidigwe, even after retiring, continues to serve the state, having recently led the Commission of Enquiry to look into the traditional ruler crisis in Awka.
Governor Soludo made these remarks during Justice Obidigwe’s birthday celebration at All Saints Cathedral Church, Onitsha, on June 4.
He emphasised that although retired, Justice Obidigwe is not tired and is expected to live up to 120 years, referencing Genesis 6 :3, where God says, My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is but flesh; his days shall be 120 years.” With advancements in health technology, he suggested Justice Obidigwe could have around 40 more years to live. He wished him good health and a sound mind.

The event’s Chairman, HRH, Igwe Dr. Oranu Chris Chidume, Igwe of Omor, welcomed the governor and attendees. He expressed that the celebrant values education and had contributed significantly to the community, Church, and the profession, which he rised to become the Chief Judge of the state.
He prayed that Justice Obidigwe lives to see his grandchildren and more development in their community.
”My mother told me that in those days, Justice Obidigwe was one of the community members who visited homes to ensure every child attended school. He led the efforts to establish primary and secondary schools in Omor,” he said.
