The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Command, Corps Commander Bridget Asakhauno, has praised Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s investment in road infrastructure and traffic light systems, describing them as key to reducing congestion across the state.
Asakhauno gave the commendation Yesterday during a courtesy visit to the Office of the Head of Service at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat Complex, Awka.
She said Anambra’s good roads and functional traffic lights represent good road management that minimizes traffic gridlock and cuts the need for heavy manpower deployment.
“The beauty of Anambra State is that you don’t have too much traffic conjunctions and that is the effort of the state governor. He is doing well for Ndi Anambra by making sure that they have good roads, good traffic system and traffic lights,” Asakhauno stated.
She described the state’s traffic light network as very interesting and a model of technology-driven control which she noted as part of a good road management system that reduces manpower on the roads and controls traffic while commending the governor for a job well done.
The Sector Commander expressed confidence that Governor Soludo would do more for Ndi Anambra in his second tenure, building on current gains in road safety and traffic management.
Asakhauno also attributed the Corps’ smooth operations in Anambra to the governor’s support and peaceful disposition, noting that the state government has been supportive of FRSC activities.
The visit was also to seek collaboration with the Head of Service, Anuli Iwouno, Esq, mni, to train civil servants and convoy drivers on road safety and proper use of traffic infrastructure.
