The immediate past President of the Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) Lagos, Barr. Vincent Osakwe, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for bringing an end to the Monday sit-at-home in Anambra State.

Speaking in an interview on February 17, Osakwe said the prolonged Monday shutdown significantly reduced productivity, wasted man-hours, and disrupted economic activities across the state.

He explained that the weekly lockdown crippled commercial operations, as markets were forced to close, limiting trading opportunities and discouraging customers from other regions.

Osakwe added that with the policy now abolished by Governor Soludo, normal weekly economic activities would fully resume, productivity would increase, and businesses would operate more consistently, leading to improved economic performance.

He noted that since the Monday sit-at-home was abolished, markets and other socio-economic activities have resumed fully, describing the governor’s action as timely and necessary for economic stability and sustainable development.
