The Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, has described fatherhood as a sacred responsibility that goes beyond material provision, urging fathers to embrace prayer, patience, presence, and godly leadership.
Bishop Nwokolo stated this in a goodwill message on June 21, as he felicitated with fathers, grandfathers, spiritual fathers, and father figures across the Diocese on the Niger and beyond in celebration of Father’s Day.
The Bishop noted that fathers play significant roles in shaping families, mentoring future generations, and reflecting the love and character of God through their sacrifices, discipline, and commitment to their homes and communities.

According to him, the examples set by fathers provide stability and moral direction in a rapidly changing world, helping families remain rooted in faith, integrity, and Christian values.
He emphasized that true fatherhood involves shaping lives, nurturing faith, and leading families with wisdom, compassion, and the fear of God.
Bishop Nwokolo also offered prayers for fathers facing various challenges, including those grieving, trusting God for answers, and those serving as father figures to children outside their immediate families.
He prayed for renewed strength, peace, and divine rewards for their dedication, encouraging fathers to continue serving as role models and spiritual leaders.
The Bishop assured fathers that their sacrifices, prayers, and efforts contribute to building lasting legacies for future generations, while wishing them a joyful Father’s Day celebration and God’s continued blessings upon their families.
