The need for family unity, love and mutual cooperation in fulfilling God’s purpose was the central message of a sermon delivered by Rev. Ifeanyi Udealor on October 18, at Simon and Jude Anglican Church, Omagba Phase 2, Onitsha, Anambra State.
Speaking on the theme, “Fulfilling God’s Purposes Through Our Family,” Rev. Udealor urged families to embrace unity, demonstrate genuine love and work collectively towards fulfilling God’s plans for their lives.
He noted that the growth and progress of every family depend on mutual understanding, togetherness and the readiness of members to support one another, regardless of their differences.
The cleric warned that gossip could undermine family relationships by fostering division, suspicion and mistrust. He therefore advised Christians to desist from spreading rumours and instead cultivate an atmosphere of peace, love and understanding within their homes.
Rev. Udealor highlighted God’s promises to Abraham, emphasising the significance of divine blessings and the need for families to live in accordance with God’s purpose.
He also called on members of the congregation to understand and fulfil their respective responsibilities in building strong, harmonious and godly families. According to him, unity and collective effort would help families navigate challenges and accomplish God’s purpose for their homes.
Rev. Udealor further encouraged Christians to make their families instruments of divine blessings by upholding godly principles, settling disputes amicably and treating one another with love, respect and understanding.
The service featured a family thanksgiving, during which families offered gratitude to God for His faithfulness, blessings and protection over their households.
The thanksgiving also served as an opportunity for the congregation to celebrate God’s goodness and renew their commitment to building peaceful, loving and united families anchored in godly values.
