FAITH, CULTURE MARK OPENING OF DIOCESE ON THE NIGER 2026 WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

The Diocese on the Niger Women’s Conference commenced at Immanuel Anglican Church, Onitsha, with hundreds of women from across the Diocese gathering for worship, fellowship and spiritual renewal.

The conference, which attracted participants from different parts of the Diocese, is aimed at strengthening the Christian faith and service of women.

The Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, was received by members of the host community, who showcased the cultural heritage of Onicha Ado through traditional displays.

Addressing participants, Nwokolo commended the President of the Women Ministry, Dr. (Mrs.) Elsie N. Nwokolo (FPSN), the Women Ministry Chaplain, Ven. Samuel Ezewudo, and members of the planning committee for their commitment to the successful organisation of the conference.

Speaking on the theme, “The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom,” taken from Proverbs 9:10, the bishop urged the women to build their lives on the foundation of godly wisdom.

He said that genuine wisdom begins with reverence for God and encouraged participants to allow their faith to guide their lives, families and service to the Church.

According to him, true success and lasting fulfilment are found in humble obedience to God’s will rather than in human accomplishments.

The conference will feature Bible teachings, prayer sessions, worship, counselling and other activities designed to strengthen the spiritual lives of women and equip them for greater impact in their homes, churches and society.
