The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor has charged confirmed pupils of the Udoka Nursery/ Primary School, Awka to hold tenaciously the demands of the Sacrament of Confirmation which they received to be worthy ambassadors of the institution.
The prelate in a homily at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Awka during his pastoral visit and 23rd graduation of the school, charged them as soldiers of Jesus Christ, to live by faith and aspire to be shinning examples in the society.
He urged them as confirmed graduands of the school to be good representatives of their alma mater wherever they find themselves.
At a reception during the graduation ceremony, Bishop Ezeokafor acknowledged the demands of the school such as a bus, solar lights, and security gate which the diocese will look into.
During the occasion, the Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Comrade Don Onyenji and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Dr. Nelson Omenugha felicitated with the institution for graduating some of the students and made some commitments to boost their demands.
The head teacher of the school, Mrs. Stella Asiegbu and the Chairman of the PTA of the School, Mr Sunday Paul Obi pressed for the provision of a play ground for the children, solar lights and school gate to beef up its security network.
In their separate remarks , the representative of Mr. Arnold Ekweoba, the Chief Executive Officer of Arnold and Associates, Mr. Mark Madu a parent of one of the graduands, Miss Angela Nwozor, Mr. Onyebuchi Nwozor expressed delight in the success of the school under the managerial skills of Rev. Father Obiora Ikeh.
The school under his watch has been transformed and moving to greater heights.
It displayed some of its exceptional endowments in the Spelling B competition and debate competition where they argued about the supremacy of the doctor and the farmer.
