‎EMPOWER THE BOY CHILD TO BUILD A BETTER SOCIETY, BISHOP’S WIFE TELLS WOMEN

‎The wife of the Bishop of the Anglican Communion, Diocese on the Niger, Dr. (Mrs) Elsie Nonyelum Nwokolo, has called on women to deliberately empower and invest in the boy child in order to raise responsible men who will positively shape society.
‎
‎
‎Dr. Mrs. Nwokolo made the call on July 9, during the opening day of the four-day Diocesan Women’s Conference held at Immanuel Anglican Church, Inland Town, Onitsha. The conference is hosted by Onicha Ado N’idu and others.
‎
‎
‎Speaking during the session on matters arising and the conference agenda, she stressed that the boy child deserves greater attention, guidance, and support. According to her, empowering boys with the right values, skills and opportunities will help keep them away from crime, violence, and other social vices.
‎
‎


‎She urged mothers and women in general to play active roles in raising boys who are responsible, disciplined, and capable of standing firm in the face of life’s challenges. She noted that investing in the lives of boys today is an investment in a better future for families, the Church, and the nation.

‎
‎One of the guest speakers, the Rev. Harrison Nwoda, spoke on the topic, “The Wisdom for Leadership: Deborah’s Model.” He encouraged women to emulate the leadership qualities of Deborah in the Bible, describing her as a woman of courage, wisdom, resilience, determination, and vision.
‎


‎
‎Also speaking, Mr. Gabriel Umenyilora, a banker and investment analyst, delivered a lecture on “Finance and Investment” He encouraged participants to embrace sound financial management and develop investment habits that will secure their future and that of their families.
‎
‎
‎Participants expressed enthusiasm as they took part in the day’s activities and looked forward to the remaining sessions of the conference.

‎
