The Mayor of Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Mr. Chimezie James Obi, has on August 7 demonstrated his commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development with the successful implementation of the first phase of the Ekwusigo Solution Skill Acquisition Programme.
The programme, which featured training in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and other practical skill areas, was designed to equip young people with relevant skills capable of providing sustainable sources of income.
Participants received hands-on training aimed at enhancing their capacity, encouraging self-reliance and preparing them for opportunities in the digital and entrepreneurial space.
Speaking on the initiative, the Mayor said the programme was part of his administration’s broader commitment to investing in the people and creating opportunities for youths to become productive contributors to the local economy.
The initiative is also expected to help beneficiaries develop employable skills, create jobs and build small-scale businesses, thereby contributing to economic growth and improved livelihoods within Ekwusigo.
The successful completion of the first phase of the programme has further highlighted the administration’s emphasis on practical empowerment as a tool for sustainable development.
Through initiatives such as the Ekwusigo Solution Skill Acquisition Programme, the Mayor’s administration is positioning youth development and human capital investment as key pillars of its grassroots development agenda.
