The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, on June 23, 2026, met education officers in Awka to discuss strategies for improving productivity and advancing digital transformation.
The meeting, held at Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, commenced with an opening prayer by Mrs. Virginia Analikwu, followed by remarks from the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs. Ifeoma Agbaizu.
Introducing himself, Dr. Ogugua urged officers to remain committed and proactive in their duties, while aligning with Governor Soludo’s agenda on job creation, skills acquisition, and development.

The commissioner emphasized digital transformation, teacher training, school renovation, quality assurance, professionalism, teamwork, and respect, stressing their importance in improving educational outcomes and service delivery.
He noted that empowering teachers with modern skills would help reach more learners, including out-of-school children, while strengthening the state’s education system through innovation.
During the interactive session, Mr. Ikenna John Nwafor highlighted the importance of scientific and technological skills in digital transformation and expressed readiness to contribute meaningfully.

Other participants raised concerns including salary deductions, inadequate working equipment, and the need to increase facilitators’ allowances for adult and non-formal education programmes statewide.
Dr. Mrs. Agbaizu advocated regular training for education officers and provision of laptops and essential tools to enable effective participation in the ministry’s digital initiatives.
Responding, Dr. Ogugua assured staff that their concerns would receive attention, reaffirming the Soludo administration’s commitment to prioritizing education as a catalyst for sustainable development.
