The Vicar General of Catholic Diocese of Bauchi, Rev. Fr. Bernard Agbata, has called on Christians to sustain love and forgiveness for their spiritual growth.
In his Divine Mercy homily at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Awka, Fr. Agbata emphasized the need for Christians to understand the endless love of God and live by it.
He advised the congregation to show the same love to one another just as the apostles did, noting that Christianity is built on love.
The cleric enjoined the faithful to show the mercy of God to the world, adding that they should be merciful as their heavenly father is merciful, reminding the congregation that Jesus Christ appeared to His disciples after His resurrection in assurance of His love and faithfulness.
He emphasized the importance of building one’s faith in God, even as he explained that God is in control of every situation no matter how difficult it might be.
Fr. Agbata encouraged believers to live their lives in accordance with the principles of love and forgiveness as well as trust in God’s faithfulness.
