The Secretary to Idemili North LGA, Mr. paul Okoye, said that the digitalization of revenue collection would reduce touting, considerably, in Idemili North LGA.
He made the remark at Ogidi, Idemili North LGA Headquarters while addressing the people who participated in a two-day training that focused on using technology to collect government revenue.
Mr. Okoye said that the digitalization of revenue collection would boost the Internally Generated Revenue in the council area as online collection of levies would curb the incidence of theft of government’s money by touts.
He said that Idemili North LGA civil servants, who are revenue collectors, would be drafted into the online revenue collection team that received training.
While saying that the digitalized revenue collection would be a medium term programme, he made the promise that commensurate remuneration would be given to those recruited for the job.
