The Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and Member representing Awka South II Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye, has hosted councillors-elect of Awka South II Constituency at his country home, Amawbia on Sept. 21.
The meeting, which was warm and interactive, focused on the continued progress and sustainable development of the constituency.
The forum provided an opportunity for the newly elected councillors to express appreciation to the Deputy Speaker for his numerous people-oriented programmes, interventions and developmental initiatives which have positively impacted communities across Awka South II.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Okoye emphasized the need for unity, responsive leadership and effective collaboration between elected representatives at the state and ward levels for grassroots development.
He charged the councillors-elect to remain committed to selfless service and to place the welfare and aspirations of the people they were elected to serve above personal interests.
The Deputy Speaker assured them of his continued support and partnership in advancing quality representation and attracting more dividends of democracy to the constituency.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by all present to strengthen grassroots governance and promote sustainable development across Awka South II Constituency.
