The Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Awka, has on July 8, strengthened its digital transformation efforts with the deployment of dozens of wireless communication phones across the hospital.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, involves the distribution of the devices to wards, clinics, consulting rooms and other critical service units to ensure faster and more efficient communication among healthcare personnel.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Umeakuewulu explained that the wireless communication system, deployed, has been programmed to enable instant interaction among healthcare providers, reducing delays in patient care while improving emergency response and coordination across departments.
She noted that the innovation is expected to enhance workflow, strengthen patient safety and improve the overall quality of healthcare services delivered at the hospital through technology-driven solutions.
According to the Chief Medical Director, the deployment is in line with the management’s vision of repositioning COOUTH as a modern, digitally enabled teaching hospital committed to excellence, efficiency and quality healthcare services delivery.
