‎
‎The Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Second Vice Chairman of the Amichi Community Association, Lagos Branch, Mr Innocent Onwuelu, has said that Anambra State has recorded remarkable progress in various sectors of the economy since its creation 35 years ago.
‎
‎Speaking in an interview on Sept. 2, Mr Onwuelu commended the state’s road network, noting that several major roads have been constructed, rehabilitated and expanded to improve connectivity and ease the movement of people and goods.
‎
‎Mr Onwuelu said a recent journey he undertook from Amichi through Izuchukwu Park in Nnewi to Unizik Junction in Awka provided a clear reflection of the improvements in the state’s road infrastructure.

‎He explained that the journey through Nnobi and Nnewi was completed with relative ease, without the usual traffic congestion previously experienced along the route. The Secretary of the Board of Trustees also expressed appreciation to the Anambra State Government for its intervention in the leadership crisis in Amichi.

‎He noted that the state government, through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Vincent Chukwuemeka Ezeakah,
‎had appointed caretaker committees to oversee the affairs of the community. He said Amichi welcomed the intervention and expressed gratitude to the government for its prompt response.

‎According to him, the new caretaker committees had been urged to engage all groups and stakeholders from Amichi, including indigenes residing outside the community and in the diaspora. He added that the committees had also been advised to consider the memoranda presented by the various groups.
‎
‎Mr Onwuelu emphasised the need for unity and cooperation among Anambra communities, urging indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to support one another and protect the image and interests of their communities.
‎
‎He also charged youths to shun the pursuit of quick wealth and embrace hard work, discipline and perseverance, stressing the importance of patience and commitment in achieving genuine success.
