COMMENTARY ON TRIDUUM A PREREQUISITE FOR EASTER CELEBRATION

Triduum is from a Latin word which means three days that showcases Jesus life, death and resurrection

Moreover, the triduum begins with Maundy Thursday. Chrism mass is officiated on Mandy Thursday by a Bishop where oil is blessed for the priests.

Furthermore, Catholic parishes celebrate the mass of the last supper of Jesus with his disciples.

In his sermon, Fr. Joseph Offor explained that this event exhibit brotherhood love among Christians urging congregation the day is set aside to pray for priests.

Also, the Good Friday is the second day of the holy week highlighting Jesus Christ death on the cross of Calvary. As stated in John 19 clarifies Jesus love by dying for our sins in order to save mankind.

In a related development, the holy Saturday and Easter Sunday readings elaborates Jesus power to conquer death.

In his sermon, Fr Ambrose Ofodile advises parishioners stressing Peter’s courage to preach the good news of Jesus resurrection.

Fr. Ofodile enjoined Christian converts the need for this commemoration to reflect on their lives.
