COMMENTARY ON PALM SUNDAY

By Joseph Obunse

Today, Christians around the world celebrate
Palm Sunday, a day that marks the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday begins Holy Week and reminds us of the humility, courage, and purpose with which Jesus approached His final days on Earth.

As the crowds waved palm branches and shouted “Hosanna,” they welcomed Him as a king—but His kingdom was not one of earthly power, but of love, service, and sacrifice. Palm Sunday challenges us to reflect on our own lives: are we ready to embrace the path of humility, compassion, and commitment to what is right?

In this season of reflection, may we carry the spirit of Palm Sunday in our hearts—not just as a historic event, but as a call to live with purpose, kindness, and faith in our daily lives.
