The Chief Medical Director of Comprehensive Medical Centre(CMC), Awkuzu, Dr. Adaobi Odina, has charged Head of Departments of the hospital to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
The CMD gave the charge during a strategic meeting with Heads of Department on April 7 at her office, where she commended their resilience in sustaining medical services.
She, however, urged them to eliminate all forms of unethical practices and ensure prompt and professional services to patients.
She also called for improved service delivery in all units, maintaining that all need to sit up amid the growing concerns about service delivery, punctuality and attitude to work of civil servants, pointing out that the work of healthcare givers entails working on human life and truancy is highly prohibited.
The CMD, urged the heads of department to cultivate the culture of timeliness and teamwork in their various units for optimum healthcare service to the people.
In their response, the Matron of the hospital, Appolonia Meze as well as the Chief Admin Officer, Mrs Felicia Nwabunwanne, expressed appreciation to the CMD for her proactive leadership and support, pledging to redouble their efforts in improving service delivery while upholding ethical standards in their departments.
On her part, the Head of Department Laboratory Unit, Mrs Catherine Obijiofor, expressed gratitude to the CMD and pledged on behalf of her unit staff to always uphold timeliness, professionalism and approved standards in diagnosing with the interest of patients at heart.
