‎The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Anambra State Branch, has applauded former Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Sen. Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah, for her ongoing 10-day free medical outreach, describing the initiative as a commendable demonstration of compassionate and people-centred leadership.
‎
‎In a press statement issued in Awka on October 24 and jointly signed by the CLO State Chairman, Comr. Vincent Ezekwueme, and the Secretary, Comr. Chidi Mbah, the organisation disclosed that the medical programme was being conducted at Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Fegge General Hospital in Onitsha South and other designated medical centres across Anambra North Senatorial District.
‎

‎According to the organisation, the outreach has recorded significant achievements, including more than 60 major surgeries performed at no cost to beneficiaries. The procedures include hernia repairs, fibroid removal, hydrocele operations, cataract and pterygium surgeries, lipoma excisions and appendectomies.
‎
‎The CLO added that thousands of residents had benefited from free medical consultations, laboratory investigations, health screenings, medications and medical counselling as part of the initiative.
‎
‎The organisation also commended Senator Oduah for her reported intervention providing free medical treatment to residents aged 65 and above across Anambra State, describing the initiative as a significant contribution to elderly care and social protection.
‎
‎One of the beneficiaries, Comr. Onyeka Obi, a CLO member who underwent free hernia surgery, expressed gratitude to the former senator, praising the quality of medical attention he received during the outreach.
‎
‎Beyond healthcare, the organisation lauded Oduah for sponsoring the 2026 Anambra North Tennis Open Competition, noting that investment in sports development promotes physical fitness, youth empowerment, talent discovery, peaceful coexistence and social cohesion.
‎
‎The CLO called on political leaders, philanthropists, business executives, market leaders and town unions to emulate the former senator’s humanitarian efforts by supporting similar healthcare interventions and community development programmes.
‎
‎It further observed that the medical outreach had brought relief to vulnerable residents facing difficulties accessing affordable healthcare, helping to restore hope and dignity to beneficiaries. The organisation urged those who received treatment to adhere strictly to medical advice and maintain appropriate healthcare practices.
‎
‎The organisation expressed confidence that Sen. Oduah’s contributions to healthcare and community development would remain memorable, while reaffirming its support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of the people. The statement was also endorsed by Comr. Damian Ogudike, Chairman of the CLO Media and Publicity Committee.
