Vicar, St Paul’s Catholic Church, Akpo, Rev Fr Innocent Chinazaekpere Uwakwe has emphasized importance of obedience to constituted authorities, describing it as being supportive to the authorities for administrative harmony.
He said this while admonishing congregation shortly after Mass, at the Church, in Aguata Local Government Area(LGA), on September 20.
The cleric said, “Obedience is sine qua non to administrative growth and development of any people. It is not just about the Church but about constituted authorities everywhere.
“When directives are given, there must be reasons for the directives. So, disobeying it simply means distortion to growth and development of the organization.
“Anambra State government is already overwhelmed with over a thousand erosion sites, as such continued pouring of refuse into gutters and water channels tantamounts to adding salt to injuries.
“We need to obey government directives on waste management to reducing flood menace.
“It may be true that your house is not flood threatening, yet some of your brothers have lost their houses, farmland and other valuables.
“Be your brothers keeper as you empathize with them. Do the best you can to making sure that flood water is not coming out from your house, and every other thing within your reach to help,” he pleaded.
