‎It was a celebration of joy, pride and nostalgia at Great Choice De Immaculate Demonstration School (CIDS), Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, as the institution held its 2026 Valedictory, Send-Forth and Prize-Giving Ceremony for the graduating Class of 2026 on Oct. 30.
‎
‎In his farewell address, the Director of the school, Engr. Solormy Ochokwu, popularly known as Uncle Solor, described the graduating class as one of his favourites, recalling their six-year academic journey from Junior Secondary School One to Senior Secondary School Three.
‎
‎He urged the graduates, who would be proceeding to higher institutions and other ventures, to uphold the values of honesty, discipline, integrity, service, excellence, hard work and godly character associated with CIDS.
‎
Ochokwu advised the graduands against measuring success by wealth, positions or titles, emphasising that true greatness was reflected in the positive difference individuals made in the lives of others.

‎“True greatness is not in how many people who serve you, but in how many lives you touch. Remain focused, respectful, teachable and not be afraid to start small. May your future be bright, your character remain noble, and your impact on humanity be unforgettable,” Ochokwu said.
‎
‎The ceremony also celebrated academic excellence, with two students emerging as overall best graduating students in their respective categories. Miss Favour Adaeze Okafor, from Obosi, Anambra State, emerged overall best graduating student in Arts/Management, winning prizes in English Language, Government, Civic Education, Biology and Igbo Language, as well as the Neatest Student Award. She also contributed to the school’s success in three external quiz competitions.
‎
‎Similarly, Attabor Mohammed, from Kogi State, emerged overall best graduating student in Science/Commerce, receiving awards in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Marketing, alongside the Best Behaved Male Student Award.
‎
‎Ochokwu congratulated the graduating Class of 2026 and assured them of the school’s continued support and guidance, urging them to go forth and achieve great things as worthy ambassadors of CIDS.
‎
‎The two overall best graduating students, alongside other outstanding graduands, received various gift items and cash prizes. They pledged to remain focused, uphold the values and principles instilled in them at CIDS, and contribute positively to the development of society.
