Mr. Chris Molokwu has officially resumed duties as the substantive Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), following his reappointment by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
Mr. Molokwu formally assumed office on July 30, taking over from the immediate past Acting Managing Director, Barr. Juliet Mbonu-Ike, during a handover ceremony held at the corporation.
Speaking at the event, Barr. Mbonu-Ike said she had overseen the affairs of the station in an acting capacity for the past four months. She expressed gratitude to members of staff for their cooperation and support throughout her tenure and wished the new Managing Director a successful term in office.
Addressing the staff after taking over, Mr. Molokwu thanked Governor Soludo for the confidence reposed in him through his reappointment. He noted that the decision reflected the progress achieved during his previous 16-month tenure as Managing Director.
He reaffirmed his commitment to repositioning ABS to meet global digital broadcasting standards, while introducing innovative ideas that would strengthen the station’s competitiveness and establish it as a leading broadcast media organisation in Anambra State and beyond.
Mr. Molokwu also pledged to work collaboratively with the management team and staff to realise his vision of a modern, dynamic and more impactful broadcasting service.
