‎Anambra joined the rest of the country yesterday to mark the 2026 National Children’s Day celebration in grand style at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, with Governor Chukwuma Soludo urging children to dream boldly and stay committed to values that build the nation.
‎

‎Addressing the excited crowd of pupils and students, Gov. Soludo said the future rests in the hands of the young ones and promised that his administration would keep working to secure it. “Dear children, never stop believing in yourself and never stop believing in Nigeria. The future belongs to you, and this administration remains committed to building a nation where every child can dream boldly, grow safely, learn freely and succeed honorably” reminded children that their dreams, dignity and freedom define the future of the country.
‎

‎He encouraged them to embrace discipline, hard work, patriotism, honesty, compassion and excellence. He advised them to surround themselves with positive influences, respect their parents and teachers, and focus on developing their education and talents. “Use technology responsibly and commit yourselves to values that promote peace, unity and national progress,” he added.
‎

‎The event featured cutting of the children’s day cake, march pasts and performances by school children from across the state, with parents, teachers and government officials in attendance.
