Catholic faithful gathered to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday, marking the conclusion of Easter’s octave.
The event commemorates Jesus Christ’s mercy, as revealed to Faustina Kowalska, promising special blessings and indulgences to devotees.
In his sermon, Fr. Ambrose Ofodile resident in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Enugu urged Catholics to strengthen their faith, citing Thomas the apostle’s declaration, “My God, my Lord”. He emphasized Jesus’ words, “Peace be with you,” calling on congregants to embody this peace in their interactions.
The celebration featured readings from Acts 2:42-47 and 1 Peter 1:3-9, highlighting community, shared resources, and Christ’s sacrifice for humanity’s salvation.
