Christians have been urged to remain steadfast in their faith and trust in God, especially during trials and difficult seasons.
Rev. Canon Ugochukwu Azubuike Ogunoegbunam gave the charge while delivering the homily at the Mid-Week Communion Service held on Aug. 12 at Calvary Chapel, GRA, Onitsha.

Speaking on the theme, “Holding Fast to the Faith,” with Hebrews 10:35–39 as his text, Canon Ogunoegbunam encouraged christians to understand and apply the Word of God in their daily lives.
He said walking with God provides lasting peace and joy that cannot be found in worldly possessions, noting that the peace offered by Jesus Christ is different from what the world provides.

The canon urged believers to remain rooted in God’s Word, seek His mercy and deepen their relationship with Him, assuring them that God’s grace is sufficient for those who trust in Him.
He reminded the congregation that faith provides the strength to face life’s challenges, stressing that believers should not abandon their confidence in God when confronted with difficulties.

Quoting Hebrews 10:38, “the just shall live by faith,” he encouraged christians to deliberately exercise their faith and remain committed to God even in challenging circumstances.
Ogunoegbunam warned against turning away from faith, noting that steadfast trust in God enables believers to preserve their spiritual lives and remain hopeful amid trials.
The service ended with prayers for grace to live righteously, remain confident in God and draw strength from His Word throughout life.
